Club América are poised to appoint Guillermo Almada as head coach to replace André Jardine, although the move has not yet been confirmed.

According to Americayya.net, the board plan to announce the Uruguayan on Monday, when the squad reports for pre-season ahead of Apertura 2026.

As his arrival is awaited, potential signings are being discussed at the coach’s request. The first name linked is Luis Chávez, the Mexico midfielder currently in Russia, who is viewed as the staff’s priority target.

Two Pachuca players are also being mentioned for América, Elias Montiel and Brian García. One is a midfielder, the other a full-back.

Federico Viñas and Oussama Idrissi have also been floated, yet both ended their time under Almada on bad terms, so it seems unlikely he would ask for them.

For now, few changes are expected. Outgoings could shape the window, with Israel Reyes, Sebastián Cáceres, Brian Rodríguez and even Alejandro Zendejas possible departures amid talk of European interest.
