Portsmouth have announced the news that club captain Hannah Haughton is leaving the club this summer.

Pompey revealed the player’s departure via a post on their official club website this evening.

The goalkeeper has played a key role in Portsmouth’s success in recent times. Haughton joined the club six-and-a-half-years ago and she has helped Pompey with their successful battle to reach the elite game. The player was an ever-present for Portsmouth as they won the FA Women’s National League Southern Premier Division title in 2023/2024.

Haughton’s efforts for Portsmouth saw her rewarded with a professional contract last summer. She was the first player in the club’s history to go full-time. The 2024/2025 campaign turned out to be a frustrating one for Haughton. The keeper made three appearances for Portsmouth in the Barclays WSL2 before sustaining a shoulder injury which ruled her out of action for the remainder of the season.

In total, Haughton has made 138 appearances for Portsmouth in all competitions while she has kept 61 clean sheets. She will go down in history as one of the club’s greatest players.

Haughton is the seventh player to leave Portsmouth this summer. Nicole Barrett, Erin McLaughlin, Daisy McLachlan, Annie Rolf, Ella Humphrey and Scarlett Williams are also moving on.
