Clausura 2026 was a reflection of the comprehensive work carried out every day at Club Deportivo Guadalajara. From the professional teams to the youth ranks, the various red-and-white squads competed at the highest level and shared a common achievement: every team qualified for the playoffs of its respective competition.
Throughout the first half of the year, Guadalajara was a protagonist in every category. There were records, championships, talent development, contributions to National Teams, and standout performances in both the men's and women's divisions. For that reason, it is worth taking a look back at what each of Club Deportivo Guadalajara’s teams accomplished during CL26.
First Team
Guadalajara made us dream until the very last moment. The team dominated the tournament from start to finish, winning its first 6 matches of CL26 and breaking its short-tournament points record with 36 points. On top of that, it contributed 5 players to the Mexican National Team ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Backed by a 14-match unbeaten streak at Estadio AKRON, Chivas reached the Semifinals, where it fought until the end before being eliminated by Cruz Azul, always earning the applause and recognition of the Chiva Nation for Gabriel Milito’s attacking style of play.
Women's Team
It was also a positive semester for the Rojiblancas, who lost only 1 regular-season match and improved their points total under Antonio Contreras, finishing with 34 points. Their home form was also remarkable, turning both La Fortaleza Rojiblanca and Estadio Jalisco into true strongholds with 8 wins and 2 draws.
That performance secured a place in the Quarterfinals, where they faced Pachuca and were eliminated after the second leg in the Bella Airosa. However, this series also gave us #LaMarcaDeAlicia, as Alicia Cervantes became the all-time leading scorer in Club Deportivo Guadalajara history with 161 goals.
Tapatío
The young Rebaño competed fiercely throughout the CL26 Liga de Expansión campaign. Under the guidance of Pepe Meléndez, the top representative of the Cantera Rojiblanca became the league’s highest-scoring team with 28 goals.
As is tradition, Tapatío helped develop several future Chivas talents, reaching the Quarterfinals, where they were eliminated by Cancún FC.
Sub 21
What a tournament it was for the young Rojiblancos! The team that earned the most points during regulation time in its division was crowned champion against none other than its fiercest rival: América. In doing so, the Cantera Rojiblanca added another trophy to its collection, securing its first title in this category.
After eliminating Atlas and FC Juárez, Luis Arce’s squad delivered a footballing masterclass at Estadio AKRON, defeating América 4-1 in the first leg of the Final before finishing the job in Coapa with a scoreless draw.
Sub 19
Chivas Sub 19 found its best form at the perfect moment to secure a playoff berth. Finishing fifth in the standings, the team faced Toluca in the Quarterfinals and was eliminated by a 3-2 aggregate score.
Women's Sub 19

Our young Rojiblancas qualified for the playoffs for the fifth consecutive tournament after finishing fourth in Group 2 on the final matchday of the season. They were eliminated by Pachuca in the Quarterfinals.
Sub 17

Another team that enjoyed a strong semester was Chivas Sub 17, which finished as the overall leader of CL26 and one of the most balanced teams in the tournament with 41 points. Alberto Ascencio’s side confidently eliminated América in the Quarterfinals but could not get past Pachuca in the Semifinals, bowing out while fighting relentlessly for a place in the Final.
But the story did not end there for Chivas Sub 17, as the team also gained valuable international experience by winning the Bronze Cup at Copa Imposible in Medellín, Colombia, where it faced clubs such as Atlético Nacional, Argentinos Juniors, Independiente Santa Fe, and Independiente de Medellín.
Sub 15

Guadalajara Sub 15 enjoyed an excellent regular season, finishing atop Group 2 with 34 points thanks to the developmental philosophy of the Cantera Rojiblanca. In the Quarterfinals, after a 2-2 draw against Pachuca, the team was unfortunately eliminated in a penalty shootout.
