The English club Chelsea will be aiming to capture the very first edition of the Club World Cup in its new 32-team format.

In the final, they will face a formidable opponent: Paris Saint-Germain, a team that has been riding a wave of success lately.

This blockbuster clash on the world football stage is set for Sunday, July 13, kicking off at 7pm GMT.

In the group stage, Chelsea finished second behind Brazilian football powerhouse Flamengo, who defeated them on matchday two with a scoreline of 3-1. Chelsea, however, secured victories over Los Angeles (2-0) and Espérance de Tunis (3-0).

In the round of 16, the Blues cruised to a 4-1 win against Benfica before outclassing fellow Brazilian sides Palmeiras and Fluminense in the quarter- and semi-finals with scores of 2-1 and 2-0, respectively.

Backed by a squad brimming with promising young talent, the English giants look well-equipped to give the European champions a real run for their money.
