Liverpool lost their last league stage match of the UEFA Champions League by 3-2 at the hands of PSV. However, they were lucky enough to finish at the top of the points table, all thanks to a draw between Barcelona and Atalanta.

The Reds will now return to the Premier League and will lock horns with Bournemouth in an away fixture this weekend. Arne Slot’s men are leading the race comfortably and will be aiming for another three points when they take onto the field.

Defence

Alisson Becker is back again to take the charge between the sticks replacing Caoimhin Kelleher. Right-back Conor Bradley should make way for Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Both Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate are called up to take up the duties of the centre-backs, leaving no place for Jarell Quansah and Kostas Tsimikas in the XI. Andy Robertson, who was used in the central area, will return to his original left-back position.

Midfield

Alexis Mac Allister and Ryan Gravenberch are well-rested and should be deployed in the middle of the park. They will look to control the tempo of the game and make things easier for other guys.

Attack

Amid Curtis Jones’ injury, Dominik Szoboszlai’s selection as the attacking midfielder is no big surprise. Mohamed Salah operated on the right wing as usual and will be desperate to find the back of the net.

On the left side, Cody Gakpo continues to provide his services with Luis Diaz playing as the number nine.

Diogo Jota (muscle) is unavailable due to the injury while Curtis Jones (knock) is unlikely to get the green light for this fixture.
