Valencia overturned a 1-2 deficit at Mestalla, with stoppage time goals from Eray Cömert then Hugo Duro sealing victory. Mestalla witnessed another night of drama.
Cömert was central to it all, a defensive linchpin and a crowd favourite. According to AS, after the derby against Levante he drew attention by celebrating with a corner flag, and he did so again here.

After full time, with most players already in the tunnel, sections of the home support urged Cömert to take a corner flag from a club staff member.
He obliged, waving the corner flag pole for a few seconds in the middle of the pitch.
The celebration appears to be here to stay.
