French players excelled across leagues this weekend, led by Kingsley Coman, Jean Butez and Alexis Claude-Maurice. According to L'Équipe, they headline a 3-4-2-1 team of the week.
Como’s 2-0 win at Juventus owed plenty to Jean Butez, who made three saves and brought calm in his box. He denied Yildiz early and read a lob on 22 minutes, a sharp response after the 1-1 at Milan.
Livingston’s Brooklyn Kabongolo smashed a 14th-minute volley to lead against Rangers, then produced 14 clearances in a 2-2 draw. For Union Berlin, Stanley Nsoki anchored a 1-0 defeat of Bayer Leverkusen, booked inside three minutes yet finishing with 13 clearances and two interceptions.
Maxence Caqueret impressed again for Como, timing his run to finish on 61 minutes and double the lead in Turin. Paul Joly crossed for Norman Bassette on 40 minutes in Kaiserslautern’s 3-2 win at Preussen Münster.
Back in Al-Nassr’s XI, Kingsley Coman slid a through ball for Cristiano Ronaldo on 13 minutes, then scored from a João Felix pass around the half-hour and later teed up Ronaldo again on 79. The 4-0 win returned Al-Nassr to the top of the Saudi league.
Armand Laurienté supplied Andrea Pinamonti and Domenico Berardi in Sassuolo’s 3-0 defeat of Hellas Verona on 40 and 62 minutes. Alexis Claude-Maurice set up Rodrigo Ribeiro and Elvis Rexhbecaj as Augsburg won 3-2 at Wolfsburg, lifting them to 10th. Mazire Soula also scored as Levski Sofia beat CSKA Sofia 3-1, keeping a 10-point lead.
