Inter Milan make the short trip to Como for the first leg of the Coppa Italia semi-final on Tuesday.
The Nerazzurri are favourites heading into this clash but the hosts will hold no fear of their more illustrious opponents, especially after eliminating Napoli in the previous round.
However, Inter dominated Como in the most recent encounter, winning 4-0 at the San Siro earlier this season.
Head coach Cesc Fabregas will be missing a few players for the knockout tie. Martin Baturina remains sidelined with an ankle injury, with his return expected in mid-March 2026.
Additionally, Jayden Addai continues his recovery from an Achilles tendon injury and won’t be available until mid-May.
Alvaro Morata is also sidelined until late March due to his heel injury and Marc-Oliver Kempf is out as well for the same period of time.
The Nerazzurri will be without captain Lautaro Martinez, who suffered a strain to his left calf muscle during the Champions League clash against Bodo/Glimt. Martinez is expected to miss approximately four weeks.
On top of head coach Christian Chivu’s concerns, French forward Ange-Yoan Bonny is also doubtful after picking up a calf complaint during Saturday’s 2-0 victory over Genoa at San Siro.
Bonny trained separately at Appiano Gentile and his availability for the semi-final looks remote according to reports.
Francesco Pio Esposito is expected to lead the line at Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia, with Marcus Thuram providing support despite his recent struggles for form.
Como arrive at this fixture in excellent form, having lost just once in their last nine matches across all competitions. Most recently, they secured an impressive 3-1 victory over Lecce at home, with goals from Douvikas, Rodriguez, and Marc-Oliver Kempf.
Inter Milan head into this match as the Serie A league leaders, sitting comfortably at the top of Serie A with 67 points from 27 matches. The Nerazzurri are 10 points clear of second-placed AC Milan.
Their most recent outing saw them secure a comfortable 2-0 home victory against Genoa. However, their Champions League campaign ended disappointingly with elimination by Bodo/Glimt over two legs.
Como: Butez; Smolcic, Ramon, Carlos, Valle; Perrone, Da Cunha; Vojvoda, Paz, Rodriguez; Douvikas
Inter Milan: Martinez; Bisseck, Akanji, Bastoni; Henrique, Barella, Calhanoglu, Mkhitaryan, Dimarco; Thuram, Esposito
