Manchester City take on Juventus on matchday three of the group stage at the FIFA Club World Cup knowing only a win will secure top spot ahead of the last-16.

Pep Guardiola’s side have enjoyed a strong competition thus far after defeating Wydad AC 2-0 on matchday one, and dismissing Al Ain with ease on matchday two thanks to a 6-0 victory in Atlanta, Georgia.

Having missed out on a seventh goal against the aforementioned UAE-based club to swing the goal difference between themselves and Juventus into their favour, City now require a win to finish as group winners and set-up a tie against second place in Group H.

Group H itself remains undecided entirely, with both qualified teams and the finishing order undetermined heading into the final round of matches, as Real Madrid, Red Bull Salzburg, and Al Hilal go in search of first position themselves.

For Manchester City, they will be without Rico Lewis for this contest and the last-16 tie after FIFA extended the right-back’s ban for his red card against Wydad AC on the opening matchday of the tournament.

Claudio Echeverri’s ankle injury sustained against Al Ain last time out also means that the Argentine’s tournament as a whole could be over, after Pep Guardiola ruled the creative midfielder out of action for up to three weeks.
