Manchester City’s Carabao Cup journey takes them to north London and the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the fourth round of the competition.
Round three saw Championship side Watford visit the Etihad Stadium, as a heavily rotated Manchester City side edged Tom Cleverley’s squad via a 2-1 scoreline in a largely dominant outing from the hosts.
First-half goals from Jeremy Doku and Matheus Nunes moved Manchester City into a controlling position before the break, before a late strike from Tom Ince proved to only be a consolation effort from the visitors.
The trip to Tottenham comes at a hectic period for City across competitions, with the meeting on Wednesday night followed by consecutive away trips to Bournemouth and Brighton in the Premier League, sandwiched by a Champions League venture to Sporting Lisbon.
As for Ange Postecoglou’s side, they will be out for victory and nothing less on Wednesday night, hoping to recover from a 1-0 Premier League defeat to Crystal Palace and maintain their hopes of bringing silverware to the club under their Australian coach.
On the injury front, Manchester City remain without Rodri and Oscar Bobb, while Kyle Walker, Jeremy Doku, and Jack Grealish all remain absent due to their own respective injury problems. Kevin De Bruyne is unlikely to be considered as he continues to build up fitness in training.
