Conmebol has moved to address the poor state of the Lanús pitch ahead of Flamengo’s Recopa Sudamericana first leg in Argentina. According to Coluna Do Fla, the confederation has assembled a taskforce to improve the surface.

An agronomist has been hired to oversee the work, with Conmebol covering the costs after judging the field needed upgrades to host the final.

The surface currently appears dry, with several strips lacking grass. Efforts are under way to have it ready in time.

The opening leg between Flamengo and Lanús is scheduled for Thursday, 19th, in Argentina, with the return set for 26 February at the Maracanã.

Kick-off is at 21:30 Brasília time. ESPN will show the match on pay TV, with Disney+ streaming.
