The court rejected Porto’s appeal and the club must pay about 605,300.90 euros to Benfica for the improper disclosure.

The outcome, set out in Acórdão n.º 1178/2025 on 18 December 2025, became final on 16 January 2026, closing case 9452/18.1T8PRT.

Benfica initially sought 17.7 million euros. A first instance ruling set compensation at roughly one point nine million, later reduced to one point six million. The Supreme Court fixed the amount later confirmed by the Constitutional Court.

The Supreme Court also cleared Porto of non patrimonial damages and dropped a coercive penalty of 500,000 euros imposed by lower courts.
