Corinthians continues to invest in strengthening its youth academy through extensive scouting and player recruitment work. Currently, the department responsible for talent monitoring operates in different regions of Brazil and also in other countries, with the goal of identifying players who can join the club’s development teams.

Recently, scouts linked to Corinthians were in countries such as Ecuador and Nigeria monitoring potential athletes. In addition, the scouting work also extends to several regions across the country, including the North and Northeast, expanding the reach of the search for new talents.

Crisleison Santos, Corinthians’ coordinator of observation and scouting for the youth academy, explained how the athlete identification process works and highlighted the importance of the work carried out by the department.

“I’m the coordinator of observation and scouting here at Corinthians for the youth academy, and today we have a department focused on finding talent in every part of Brazil and outside Brazil as well. For example, right now we have scouts in Ecuador, in Nigeria, and recently we also went to look for players in the North and Northeast. Basically, that is our job: to find the talents Corinthians needs to strengthen both our youth academy and, if possible, our first team.”

The coordinator also detailed the age groups monitored by the club and explained at what point athletes can be incorporated into the development process at Parque São Jorge.

“We look at all age groups, right? Starting at 13 years old, when we can already establish the first mapping of players. At 14, we can already bring these players here to São Paulo, so they can be closer to us here, if possible with their families, right? Up to our Under-20 team. So that’s the age range we’ve been focusing on.”

Finally, Crisleison stressed that the main objective of recruitment is to further improve the quality of Corinthians’ youth squads, seeking athletes from different locations and backgrounds.

“We’ve been trying to bring in these players from different places. We look for talent wherever necessary. We’ve been trying to bring them here. The goal is to further improve the quality of our youth academy squads.”
