The Coppa Italia 2026-27 bracket has been finalised, creating the possibility of an Inter v Milan meeting in the semi-finals.
According to Football Italia, the competition follows a seeded bracket similar to tennis, which maps each club’s potential route.
The top seeds are last season’s Serie A top eight, namely Inter, Napoli, Roma, Como, Milan, Juventus, Atalanta and Bologna. They enter at the round of 16 and play at home.
There are 44 entrants, covering all 20 from Serie A and Serie B, plus four promoted from Lega Pro.
On paper, one half could produce Inter v Bologna and Como v Milan. The other might yield Roma v Juventus and Napoli v Atalanta.
Only the semi-final is played over two legs, home and away. Every other tie is a one-off with home advantage to the higher seed.
If a match is level after 90 minutes it goes straight to a penalty shoot-out, with no extra time.
Inter are the holders after beating Lazio 2-0 in this season’s final.
