Wednesday’s reports claim that Juventus are interested in pursuing a deal with Hellas Verona for Italy U21 defender Diego Coppola, who could replace Renato Veiga for the Bianconeri at the upcoming Club World Cup.

Reports Juventus seeking Coppola deal with Verona

According to reports from ilbianconero.it and calciomercato.com, the 21-year-old Verona centre-back is a relatively low-cost target for the Old Lady, even though his value has more than doubled over the course of the 2024-25 season.

According to Wednesday’s reports, Coppola had been valued at around €6m during the last summer transfer window, but Verona will reportedly seek a fee in the region of €12m-€15m during the next transfer session.

Juventus scouts kept a particularly close eye on the highly-rated centre-back during their 2-0 victory over Verona in Serie A on Monday night.

Calciomercato.com adds that Juve will need to move quickly if they are to avoid a bidding war with another Serie A side, or potentially teams abroad.

Juventus are reportedly hopeful of securing a deal for a new defender ahead of the Club World Cup taking place this summer. Thiago Motta will not be able to count on Gleison Bremer or Juan Cabal, nor Renato Veiga, whose loan deal will expire at the end of June.
