Valencia are preparing for Sunday’s derby at Levante, with Corberán needing to improvise at right-back as his two senior options are sidelined or doubtful.

Valencia said in a statement on Thursday 12 February that Dimitri Foulquier had successful surgery on his left knee and faces months out. The operation was performed by orthopaedic surgeon Ignacio Muñoz Criado under the supervision of Dr Pedro López, head of the club’s medical services, and the defender will remain in hospital for observation in the coming hours.

Thierry Correia left training early yesterday with discomfort and did not take to the pitch today at Paterna. He returned against Real Madrid on Sunday after a muscle injury, finished with discomfort, and although he is not ruled out for the derby he has still not trained with two sessions remaining.

Danjuma has also missed training for a second straight day due to a muscle overload. His availability for the Levante game will depend on how the issue evolves.

The positive from today’s session was Hugo Duro, who departed early yesterday but worked normally with the group. He appears on course to play on Sunday at the Ciutat de València.
