We are eager to make our fans happy and finish the season in the best possible way, knowing that there is also a chance to qualify for Europe. That is paramount; anything on the personal side is not important. I am aware of the results we have obtained, but we want to compete tomorrow, and our enthusiasm and sense of responsibility are at their highest level.
Performance throughout the season
Unfortunately, we haven't deserved to be talking about Europe until this matchday because we hadn't earned enough points to fight for anything more than what we’ve had. That moment has arrived now; we have this opportunity, and we are going to fight to the fullest to try and achieve victory against a great opponent. We are focused on the demands of this match, and we are eager to secure three points in front of our fans.
Setting the objective from the start of the season
There is one match left to finish the campaign, and that crucial match is the only thing on our minds. Regarding any comments from my players, we know the stature of this club. Unfortunately, until today, we hadn't deserved to be able to talk about anything more. We have to fight for it and battle until the very end. We're going to do everything we can -as if achieving something great depended solely on us.
What FC Barcelona he expects
I've never believed in or speculated about the behaviour of any opposing side. To say that a team has nothing to play for is disrespectful to a professional football player. Every game is competitive; nobody wants to lose. Talking about unrealistic scenarios gets you nowhere. We have to put in the effort, run, be intense, and know how to play the game. We are absolutely focused on ourselves. The group are focused and aware of the level of the current LaLiga champions. There's no need to speculate.
If qualifying for Europe would be a success
The margins between what's considered success and failure are very narrow; that's the trend this season. We have the opportunity to earn three points, but we know they're going to be very difficult to achieve. The magnitude of the opponents is undeniable. Our desire, our enthusiasm, and the support of our fans are there, and that's very important for us. We have a chance at everything this matchday, and we're going for it.
His assessment
It's at the end of the season that you can truly assess things. Dissatisfaction is always present when you don't achieve what you want.
Players available
Lucas Beltrán is still working on his recovery; he won't be ready in time. We're going to be without Cömert due to suspension. Danjuma has recovered and is available, and that list will be supplemented with a player from the reserve team.
Fan Support
It's an absolute honor to represent a fanbase like Valencia CF's. Seeing that an attendance record has been broken shows how alive the passion for this club is. That means a great deal of responsibility. We are aware of the fans we have behind us and tomorrow we have the opportunity to show them how much we enjoy bringing them joy.
What needs to change against FC Barcelona
There are teams that, despite being very aware of what they are capable of, end up imposing their strengths on the game. That's why they won LaLiga. They have been very consistent, doing what they do very well. In the end, consistency defines LaLiga, and FC Barcelona have prevailed over everyone through their consistency. Even if we all knew the formula to beat them, they manage to impose their will. We approach the match aware of what they do well in order to give the competitive response we want.
How the week has been
I approach each week in a very similar way; I dedicate a significant amount of time to reviewing what we haven't done well and what we need to improve. We dedicate time to analysing the upcoming match and considering situations that will help us be prepared. Every game is crucial. In football, every game is different; tomorrow we have a very important one, and that's how we all see it. Staff, players, and fans need to be as united as possible to achieve a victory.
The need to apologise for the season
We are never satisfied with a performance that isn't good enough. Tomorrow we'll take to the pitch with the responsibility of maintaining the fans' pride and do our best. There are three points at stake, and we must give our all. The fans don't want words; they want actions, behaviour and commitment. And that's what we must do tomorrow to give them something to cheer about.
Keeping competitive until the end.
You can't guarantee that a certain result won't happen. I understand that FC Barcelona didn’t want to lose against Real Betis either; every game has something at stake. Nobody wants to lose, and respect for every opponent must always be paramount. Talking about possibilities that aren't realistic is pointless. We must take responsibility for our level of performance to get the three points.
If the analysis would change if the team qualify for Europe
Throughout the season, you're aware of things you've done well and other things you need to improve. I mentioned it in the previous press conference: in the first half of the season, we weren't up to par; we didn't achieve what we should demand of ourselves. We've improved in the second half, and that's why we have this opportunity tomorrow.
Motivational message to the players
It's simple. We have a special and wonderful opportunity to achieve something in front of our fans. We want to play with the determination that bringing joy to the Valencia CF fans depends solely on us. We don't waste energy on other things.
If it would be a disappointment not to qualify for Europe
Tomorrow's game is part of the season as a whole. We have the chance to get three points, and all our thoughts are focused on what to do to achieve something that will be difficult -but also exciting. Our focus is on finishing the season with a victory in front of our fans, and we must concentrate on everything that happens on the pitch to get closer to that.
