Lyon captain Corentin Tolisso will miss Sunday’s trip to PSG with an adductor problem. He will not be kept in reserve.
According to Le Progres, Paulo Fonseca said using Tolisso off the bench in the 2-0 win over Lorient was a risk they took because they needed the win, but he is not ready for Paris. He thinks the midfielder could return in the coming weeks.
Lyon are also missing Pavel Sulc, thigh, who trained individually on Friday, and Malick Fofana, ankle, who did light work with a fitness coach. Ernest Nuamah must also wait with an adductor issue more than a year after rupturing the ACL in his left knee.
Fonseca hopes the Lorient win, after nine matches without victory, has restored belief. He wants his side to back up recent defensive work against PSG.
He calls Paris the best team in France and Europe and says they are in their best period. Lyon played well at 2-3 in the reverse game, but he expects a very difficult match. They must defend well against a mobile side to give themselves chances to attack.
He could switch to three centre-backs, with Ruben Kluivert back in form, and will decide on the best structure after this week’s work.
