Corentin Tolisso trained normally on Friday morning but will not travel for Lyon’s match at Nantes on Saturday, 21:05. The captain has missed the last three games and was withdrawn at half-time during the 5-2 at Metz on 25 January.

L'Équipe reports that Paulo Fonseca does not want to take any risk, noting Tolisso is recovering well but not at 100 per cent and lacking confidence, so he will remain in Lyon.

Lyon have just welcomed back Rachid Ghezzal this week, yet absences persist during a run of 11 straight wins in all competitions.

Forwards Ernest Nuamah and Malick Fofana continue reconditioning. New signing Roman Iaremtchouk, sidelined with a calf issue, is due to rejoin group training next week.

Ruben Kluivert is not ready, with a possible return to be assessed for the home game against Nice on 15 February. Staff are working to have him available. It could take a little longer for Nicolas Tagliafico, who has an ankle problem.

Fonseca described the squad as a little tired before a busy March featuring OM in Ligue 1, Lens in the Coupe de France and the Europa League round of 16. Friday’s work focused on active recovery, set pieces and defensive structure.

He plans to change three players, with others to start, including Endrick, and insisted there would be no excuses as Lyon head to Nantes. He also wants a period of one match per week to work, progress and recover injured players.
