Corinthians amputee team present sixth Brazilian title trophy to Osmar Stabile | OneFootball

Part of Corinthians’ amputee football squad met club president Osmar Stabile this week to present the trophy for their sixth Brazilian title, secured in June with a 3-1 win over ASSAMA.

According to Meu Timao, captain Rogerinho R9 attended alongside team-mates Edvan, Kleytinho and José, while deputy director of terrestrial sports Ricardo Sena was also present.

Rogerinho reached 709 career goals during the tournament, moving clear as the all-time leading scorer in amputee football.

In the first phase they drew 1-1 with Ourinhos, beat Faro 6-1 and lost 2-1 to Esperia. They then overcame Esperia 3-0 in the quarter-finals before edging Ourinhos 3-2 in a dramatic semi-final. The campaign finished at four wins, one draw and one defeat.

The triumph delivered a national hexacampeonato for Corinthians, extending their lead at the top of the domestic game and earning a 2027 Libertadores berth, with details still to be set by the CBFA, the Confederação Brasileira de Futebol para Amputados. Launched in 2015 in partnership with Mogi das Cruzes, the amputee football project has since added seven Campeonato Paulista titles and six Copa do Brasil to its haul.
