Corinthians beat Pulo Campinas again, reach Paulista de Futsal semi-finals

On the evening of Tuesday, the 28th, Corinthians returned to the court for the Paulista Futsal Championship. In a match played for the second leg of the state competition’s quarterfinals, the Alvinegro hosted Pulo Campinas, once again dominating their opponent and winning by a score of 4-1. The goals were scored by Rick, Caio Barros, Maicon, and Deives.

With this result, the team qualified for the semifinals of the tournament with an aggregate score of 7-2 over Pulo. In this stage, Corinthians’ opponent will be Ferroviário Pinda. Before that, however, the team will turn its attention back to the National Futsal League (LNF), as they will host Magnus Sorocaba for the first leg of the quarterfinals at Wlamir Marques, next Tuesday, November 4th, at 9 p.m. (Brasília time).

This Tuesday, coach Fernando Malafaia sent Corinthians onto the court with Kelvin; Caio Barros, Luisinho, Renatinho, and Rick. On the bench, available were Lucas Oliveira; Luiz Brizzi, Papagaio, Marlon, Maicon, Drives, Igor Carioca, Lucas Martins, Edimar, and Vandinho.

Corinthians started the match pressing Pulo Campinas, creating good chances right from the opening minutes and opening the scoring with Rick at just four minutes, after a quick play. The team continued to suffocate the visitors and Felipe had to intervene in dangerous shots. Pulo tried to respond on counterattacks, but without success. Timão went into halftime ahead and in control.

After a timeout, Pulo tried to react and almost equalized, but was stopped by Kelvin. On the Corinthians side, Brizzi hit the post and Rick kept stealing the ball to launch counterattacks. The final minutes were controlled by Timão. The defense remained solid, not allowing the equalizer. The first half ended 1-0, with absolute dominance by Corinthians.

After the break, Timão kept up the intense pace and Caio Barros extended the lead after a good exchange of passes. The opponent tried to use a flying goalkeeper, but found a well-organized defense and even saw Kelvin almost score from distance. Maicon appeared at the far post, making it 3-0 and paving the way for Corinthians’ qualification.

Pulo pulled one back with Diogo, but soon lost Silvinho, who was sent off for a foul on Edimar. With a numerical advantage, Corinthians created several chances until Deives sealed the score with another good attack. With the 4-1 victory, Timão secured their qualification, controlling the game until the final whistle.
