Corinthians beat Realidade Jovem, face São Paulo in Paulista semis

On the evening of this Sunday (16), Corinthians returned to the field for the Paulista Women's Championship. In a match valid for the 14th and final round of the first phase of the state tournament, the Brabas hosted Realidade Jovem at Estádio José Liberatti, in Osasco, and in a calm match, won 3-0. The goals for the black-and-whites were scored by midfielder Letícia Monteiro and forward Ivana Fuso.

With this result, the People’s Team reinforced its lead in the overall tournament standings, totaling 35 points after achieving 11 wins, two draws, and losing only once. In addition, they scored 32 goals and conceded only six, the best numbers among the eight teams in the Paulistão.

Corinthians Lineup

Coach Lucas Piccinato lined up the team with: Kemelli; Paulinha (Letícia Santos), Letícia Teles (Dayana Rodríguez), Duda Mineira, Erika, and Juliete; Juliana Passari (Ivana Fuso), Manu Olivan (Gi Fernandes), and Letícia Monteiro (Rafa Rocha); Jhonson (Eudimilla) and Ariel Godoi. On the bench were available: Rillary, Letícia Santos, Thaís Ferreira, Gabi Zanotti, Eudimilla, Ivana Fuso, Gi Fernandes, Dayana Rodriguez, Rafa Rocha, and Tamires.

Refereeing

The referee was Fernanda dos Santos Ignacio de Souza, assisted by Ricardo Luis Buzzi and Claudio Rafael Ribeiro. The fourth official was Fabiola Adelina Camargo Silva. There was no video assistant referee (VAR) technology.

First Half

Corinthians started the first half pushing forward and imposing their game plan on Realidade Jovem, using the left offensive side – with Letícia Monteiro, Juliete, and Ariel Godoi – as their main weapon to try to open the scoring. The opponents, in turn, tried to keep possession and take advantage of any mistakes by the Brabas.

At 12 minutes, Realidade Jovem threatened with a play down the right wing. Erika made a mistake and, after a cross into the penalty spot, goalkeeper Kemelli made a safe save. The team led by coach Lucas Piccinato had a lot of offensive volume but could not turn their attacks into goals or force saves from the Realidade Jovem goalkeeper.

At 22 minutes, Realidade Jovem threatened again after a long ball behind defender Letícia Teles, and the opposing player shot across goal, dangerously, but wide. Goalkeeper Kemelli got a slight touch to send it out for a corner. Three minutes later, Corinthians scored their first goal!

Forward Jhonson received the ball at the byline and crossed into the box, the goalkeeper pushed it back into the middle and Letícia Monteiro, on the rebound, slotted it into the back of the net! Score: Corinthians 1 x 0 Realidade Jovem! At 30 minutes, left-back Juliete received at the byline and crossed towards midfielder Juliana Passari, but the opposing defense cleared it for a corner!

After opening the scoring, Corinthians maintained control of the match, but without creating great goal chances, despite their high offensive volume. Realidade Jovem, on the other hand, was set up for a possible counterattack and to capitalize on Brabas’ mistakes. At 43 minutes, forward Ariel Godoi reached the byline and, when crossing back, the ball deflected off the Realidade Jovem goalkeeper and almost resulted in an own goal!

When the clock hit 45 minutes, the referee added three minutes. At 48, end of the first half: Corinthians 1 x 0 Realidade Jovem.

Second Half

To start the second half, coach Lucas Piccinato brought on Ivana Fuso, Eudimilla, and Letícia Santos for Jhonson, Juliana Passari, and Paulinha. Corinthians began the final half dominating the play and just eight minutes in, the Brabas scored their second goal!

Letícia Santos won a challenge at the byline and crossed to forward Ivana Fuso, who controlled the ball and calmly extended the lead for the Parque São Jorge club. Score: Corinthians 2 x 0 Realidade Jovem! Shortly after, Letícia Monteiro received a high cross and headed it wide.

At 17 minutes, two more changes for Corinthians: Rafa Rocha and Dayana Rodríguez came on for Letícia Teles and Letícia Monteiro. Three minutes later, forward Ariel Godoi was one-on-one with the Realidade Jovem goalkeeper, dribbled, but lost the timing to finish and went out with the ball.

At 24, Letícia Santos shot from distance and the opposing goalkeeper saved comfortably. Nine minutes later, Manu Olivan left the field for right-back Gi Fernandes. Then at 35 minutes, after a cross from left to right, Eudimilla dove towards the ball and Rafa Rocha almost managed to finish into the net!

At 43 minutes, forward Ariel Godoi received a cross from the right and headed wide. The following minute, defender Erika was fouled for a penalty inside the box. Eudimilla converted to make it 3-0! When the clock hit 45 minutes in the final half, three minutes were added.

At 48, end of the match: Corinthians 3 x 0 Realidade Jovem!

Next Fixture

With the end of the first phase of the Paulista, Corinthians now move on to the knockout stage of the competition, where they will face São Paulo, who finished fourth in the table after drawing 1-1 with Ferroviária in Cotia. Thanks to their better campaign, the Brabas will play the deciding match at home. The São Paulo Football Federation will still officially set the date, time, and location of the matches.
