Corinthians ‘close to announcing’ return of Agustina Barroso | OneFootball

Corinthians are close to announcing the return of Argentina centre-back Agustina Barroso, 32, who is set to join on a free after 2025 with Flamengo.

According to Fut das Minas, she is already in São Paulo for medical tests, with only bureaucratic details to finalise before confirmation.

Her arrival follows Mariza’s move to Tigres of Mexico. Barroso would add depth alongside Thais Ferreira, Érika, Thaís Regina, Letícia Teles and Duda Mineira.

Corinthians are also in talks for Colombian defender Kelly Caicedo, 23. She has said farewell to Deportivo Cali, and the club face competition from Flamengo and Pachuca of Mexico.

Barroso’s first spell at Corinthians came in 2017, when she played two Libertadores matches, the season the club beat Colo-Colo of Chile to lift the title.

In 2025 she made 30 appearances for Flamengo, scoring once and providing one assist. Her career has included spells with Palmeiras, Ferroviária, Osasco Audax, UAI Urquiza in Argentina, and Spanish sides Tenerife and Madrid CFF.

She would join recent additions Rhaizza and Paola García, while Corinthians also have an agreement for Belén Aquino and are working on a deal for Ana Vitória.
