Corinthians confirm their position after Brasileirão matchday 26

Corinthians visited Internacional at the Beira-Rio Stadium on the night of this Wednesday, October 1st, for the 26th round of the Brazilian Championship and drew 1-1. The forward Gui Negão scored the goal for Corinthians in the first half. As a result, the Alvinegro already knows its position in the standings after the end of the round.

Corinthians will finish the 26th round of the national competition with 30 points (seven wins, nine draws, and ten losses – 26 goals scored and 32 conceded). The Alvinegro lost a position last Tuesday (30), as Atlético-MG drew 0-0 with Juventude at Arena MRV, reaching 29 points – the same score as the Parque São Jorge club until then – with a superior goal difference.

Regarding the competitors at the bottom, Santos remained in 16th place with 28 points in 25 games, as they drew 1-1 with Grêmio at Vila Belmiro. Internacional also stayed in the same situation, occupying the 15th position with 29 points in 25 matches. Even with the 3-0 defeat to Palmeiras at Allianz Parque, Vasco remained in 12th place with 30 points in 26 games – one more win than Corinthians.

In relation to the first team in the relegation zone – Juventude (23) – the margin is seven points. On the other hand, considering the G6 – the qualification zone for the 2026 Conmebol Libertadores – the Alvinegro is 11 points behind Bahia – in sixth place – with 40 points.

Now, after drawing with Internacional away from home in the Brasileirão, Corinthians remains focused on the national competition. On the next October 4th, at 9 PM (Brasília time), the Alvinegro will host Mirassol at the Neo Química Arena for the 27th round of the Brazilian Championship.
