Corinthians’ Deliberative Council meets at Parque São Jorge on Monday to vote on proposals in the draft statute reform. The decision is the step before a members’ General Assembly.
According to Meu Timao, the draft was released in late October 2025 and has stirred debate. Gaviões da Fiel protested and submitted ideas in 2024, while Coletivo Voz Corinthiana has argued for a greater role for non-members.
The Reform Commission comprises Dalton Gioia, president, Claudia Carlos de Oliveira, secretary, and councillors Corinto Baldoino Parreira e Costa, Edson Aparecido Geanelli and Gerson Leme. All were appointed by CD president Romeu Tuma Júnior.
A Council vote had been slated for 24 October 2025 but was postponed after councillors said they lacked prior access to the documents. Eleven themed meetings followed between late 2025 and early 2026.
Monday’s session is called for 18:00, requiring half of all councillors plus one for a quorum. If that is not reached, a second call at 19:00 allows proceedings with any attendance.
Romeu Tuma Júnior said the tallies for and against would be public, with individual votes recorded, including in any acclamation. If changes pass the Council, the Commission will consolidate them and send the text to a General Assembly in early April, where eligible members, over five years’ standing, over 18 and with fees paid, will vote yes or no. Approved changes take immediate effect.
