Corinthians, Cruzeiro set away ticket allocation for Copa do Brasil semis

After some deadlocks, Corinthians and Cruzeiro have reached an agreement regarding the allocation of tickets in the visitor sections at Mineirão and Neo Química Arena, respectively, for the semifinals of the Copa do Brasil. The information was initially reported by UOL Esporte.

Thus, each team will receive, according to the proportion of each stadium’s capacity, 5% of the ticket allocation for the visitor section. With this, Corinthians will be entitled to 3,200 tickets for the first leg (total capacity of 62,000), which will take place on December 10, at 9:30 PM (Brasília time), at Mineirão.

Cruzeiro fans, in turn, will receive 2,500 tickets in the visitor section at Neo Química Arena for the second leg (capacity for 49,205 people), which will take place on December 14, Sunday, at 6:00 PM, in Itaquera. In an interview with ge.globo last Wednesday (26), Corinthians president Osmar Stabile stated that he was in talks with Cruzeiro to resolve this issue.

“We spoke with Cruzeiro’s technical staff about the ticket issue. We talked about 5.2% (of the capacity), which is what we have available in our arena. We also want this at Mineirão, but we are facing a lot of resistance from them. I spoke with Pedrinho (owner of Cruzeiro’s SAF), who said he would get back to me at the beginning of the week.”

Three-time Copa do Brasil champions (1995, 2002, and 2009), Corinthians are looking to win the tournament after 16 years. Since their last title, the Alvinegro have been runners-up twice (2018 and 2022) and reached the semifinals twice (2023 and 2024).

In the current edition of the competition, the Alvinegro have won all six matches, scoring eight goals and conceding none, eliminating Novorizontino (third round), Palmeiras (round of 16), and Athletico-PR (quarterfinals).
