Corinthians edge past Inter de Limeira in warm-up friendly for the Copinha

Corinthians’ U-20 team defeated Inter de Limeira 3-1. The friendly match was held last Saturday at the youth training center, with the goals for the black-and-whites scored by Rodrigão, Jonathan, and Nicolas Araújo.

According to information released by Meu Timão, the friendly was played in two halves, one of 45 minutes and another of 25, with a different lineup used in each period. The coaching staff’s goal is to give playing time to the athletes and observe as many as possible to define the squad list for the Copinha, which will be announced at the beginning of December.

The previous week, Timãozinho had already faced Midtjylland from Denmark, in a match that ended in a 2-2 draw. The duel against the Europeans followed the same format as the friendly held last Saturday against the team from the countryside.

The match against the traditional Danish team was organized by Corinthians due to the team’s visit to Brazil for the Copa Atlântico, a friendly tournament hosted in Pernambuco. Since Corinthians is not a member of the Youth Clubs Movement (MCF), the team was unable to participate in the competition — in which they had won the Silver Series in the previous edition.

Despite this, Corinthians continues to work on scheduling new friendlies in the coming weeks, before finalizing the list of players who will compete in the 2026 Copinha.

The Copinha groups were announced last Tuesday, and Corinthians was placed to play in the city of Jaú. In the first phase, Timãozinho will face XV de Jaú, Trindade from Goiás, and Luverdense from Mato Grosso. The team is aiming for its 12th title in the competition.
