Corinthians end first half with decade’s third-best tally after 3-0 win | OneFootball

Corinthians beat Remo 3-0 in the 19th round of the Campeonato Brasileiro on Thursday night, sealing a first half that ranks as their third-best of the decade.

According to Meu Timao, the win at Neo Química Arena left them on 27 points from 19 matches, a 47.4% return, in seventh place.

Under Fernando Diniz, this is their strongest first half since 2022, when Vítor Pereira’s side collected 35 points to sit second. The decade’s top three also includes 2021, when they posted 28 points with seven wins, seven draws and five defeats.

Next came 2023 on 24 points, with six wins, six draws and seven defeats, and 2025 on 22, with five wins, seven draws and seven defeats. The low mark arrived in 2024 with only 19 points from four wins, seven draws and eight defeats.

Thursday’s result lifted Corinthians six places from 13th to seventh and trimmed the gap to Red Bull Bragantino to three points. Bragantino are fifth, the first side inside the 2027 Libertadores qualifying spots.

Corinthians visit Bahia at Arena Fonte Nova on Sunday at 16:00 for round 20, which opens the second half.
