Corinthians end round closer to Brasileirão relegation zone after 3-1 defeat at Maracanã | OneFootball

Corinthians slipped nearer the relegation places as a 3-1 defeat to Fluminense at the Maracanã closed out Thursday’s Brasileirão action.

According to Meu Timao, Corinthians have 10 points from nine matches, sit 14th, and are three clear of the drop, where Cruzeiro are on seven.

Immediately below them are Botafogo and Internacional on nine. The bottom four features Cruzeiro, Chapecoense, Mirassol and Remo.

Just ahead, Santos and Vitória also have 10, with Red Bull Bragantino on 11. Further up, Grêmio and Atlético Mineiro are on 11, Vasco da Gama on 12 and Coritiba on 14.

At the summit, Palmeiras lead on 22 points, Fluminense are second with 19, Bahia and São Paulo have 17, and Athletico Paranaense complete the top five with 16.

Corinthians host Internacional at the Neo Química Arena on Sunday at 19:30 in round 10, a match that will be decisive for coach Dorival Júnior’s future.
