Corinthians executive Marcelo Paz says Breno Bidon has drawn approaches but is unlikely to be sold in the current window, after starring in the 2-0 Supercopa Rei win over Flamengo.

According to Globo.com, Paz said the 21-year-old has a long, secure contract and, despite enquiries, a departure now is improbable. He spoke on the pitch after Sunday’s triumph at Estádio Mané Garrincha in Brasília.

He noted that Europe’s mid-year window is usually more aggressive, with increased squad building, and that the club intend to enjoy Bidon as much as possible. He also praised the midfielder’s character.

In December, agent Fernando Brito said Bidon dreams of playing in Europe but was in no hurry to leave Corinthians. He added the then 20-year-old had been monitored by European clubs since the academy and wanted to win titles with the club first.

Bidon is under contract until 31 December 2029. His release clause is 100 million euros for overseas clubs, about R$ 635 million at current rates, and R$ 370 million domestically.

An academy graduate, he is one of Corinthians’ key assets. The board plans to raise R$ 151 million from player sales in 2026.

Corinthians are in financial difficulty, with debt around R$ 2.8 billion, and need sales to help balance the books.
