Corinthians expect Juventus offer for André Luiz worth 18 million euros plus bonuses | OneFootball

Corinthians will begin the week expecting an official Juventus offer for 20-year-old midfielder André Luiz. According to Meu Timao, the bid is due in the coming days at Parque São Jorge and is set at 18 million euros guaranteed, with a further 4 million euros in performance bonuses.

Corinthians hold 70% of his economic rights and are hopeful of a positive resolution. The scenario suits the club’s strained finances, with three transfer bans currently in place, two from FIFA and one from the CBF, and a stated need to sell at least one player in the mid-year window.

Juventus’ pursuit stems from head coach Luciano Spalletti’s request. The interest predates the current hierarchy and has been carried on by new football executive Frederic Massara, who has continued negotiations.

The move is independent of Corinthians’ separate pursuit of midfielder Arthur. The two dealings are not directly linked.

Juventus had already tested the water earlier this season with a proposal. Before that, André Luiz came close to joining Milan on a package of 15 million euros plus 2 million euros in bonuses, alongside 20% of any capital gain in a future sale for Corinthians. That deal faded after strong fan opposition and public criticism from then head coach Dorival Júnior, prompting president Osmar Stabile’s board to turn it down.

Since his debut he has made 42 appearances, including 27 starts, with 7 goals. His record includes 17 wins, 15 draws and 10 defeats, and he was part of the squads that won the Copa do Brasil and the Supercopa Rei.
