Corinthians supporters want Jesse Lingard in the starting line-up against Fluminense at the Maracanã on Wednesday. According to Meu Timao, a fan poll showed a clear majority backing him to start.

In total, 56.5% opted for yes, an automatic starter, with another 30.7% also in favour due to absences. Memphis Depay and Gui Negão are sidelined with muscular injuries.

A smaller group urged caution. Some 8.8% felt he is not ready and needs minutes, while 4% preferred him as a second-half option.

Inside the club the signs are positive, with the staff trialling Lingard among the starters. If confirmed, he should partner Yuri Alberto up front, a first for the 2026 campaign.

Presented in early March, the attacking midfielder has trained normally with the squad while awaiting approval of his work visa to be registered for competitions. That is now resolved, leaving him available to make his debut.

He arrives from FC Seoul in South Korea after two seasons, playing 66 matches with 19 goals and 10 assists. His last competitive appearance came in December 2025.

Lingard has signed until the end of 2026, with an automatic renewal to 2027 if pre-agreed targets are met.
