Corinthians will be without Rodrigo Garro due to a yellow-card suspension, leaving Fernando Diniz to find a replacement. According to Meu Timao, supporters want Zakaria Labyad to step in.

In a fan poll, 67.5% chose the Moroccan to start. Breno Bidon drew 19.7%, Jesse Lingard 8.9%, while Dieguinho and the 'other' option received 1.9% each.

Labyad was in good form before the World Cup break, featuring in the club’s last four games. He scored against Peñarol in the Libertadores and Atlético Mineiro in the Campeonato Brasileiro, and also played versus Platense of Argentina and Grêmio.

Signed in February, the 33-year-old has made 15 appearances. He arrived to share duties with Garro and provide cover when the Argentine is unavailable.

His deal runs until the end of the current season and he has entered its final six months. He can now agree a pre-contract elsewhere and leave on a free at the end of the year.

Corinthians return to official action after almost two months when they face Remo on Thursday at 19:30 at Neo Química Arena, in the 19th round of the Campeonato Brasileiro.
