Corinthians finish round closer to relegation zone after 3-1 loss at Fluminense

The latest Brasileirão round ended on Thursday night with Corinthians beaten 3-1 by Fluminense at the Maracanã, a result that left them nearer the relegation places.
According to Meu Timao, Corinthians have 10 points from nine rounds, sit 14th and are three points above the drop, where Cruzeiro are the first side on 7.
Botafogo and Internacional are immediately below on 9, while the bottom four are Cruzeiro, Chapecoense, Mirassol and Remo.
Above Corinthians, Santos and Vitória also have 10, with Red Bull Bragantino on 11. Further up are Grêmio and Atlético Mineiro on 11, Vasco da Gama with 12 and Coritiba on 14.
At the summit, Palmeiras lead on 22, with Fluminense on 19. Bahia and São Paulo have 17, and Athletico Paranaense complete the top five with 16.
Corinthians host Internacional on Sunday at the Neo Química Arena at 19:30 in a round 10 fixture, a match set to be decisive for head coach Dorival Júnior’s future.
