Corinthians gear up for crucial Copa do Brasil tie vs Cruzeiro

On the morning of this Friday (12th), Corinthians continued their training for the decisive match this Sunday (14th), when they host Cruzeiro at the Neo Química Arena for the second leg of the Copa do Brasil semifinal. Timão has the advantage of a draw to qualify for the tournament final, after winning the first leg in Belo Horizonte 1-0, with a goal from Memphis.

At CT Joaquim Grava, the squad carried out a different activity, aiming to rest the starters who played on Wednesday (10th). All those who played more than 45 minutes at Mineirão did only recovery activities, just warming up on the field and then moving on to work inside the training center.

Meanwhile, the rest of the squad participated in a positional tactical training session, guided by coach Dorival Júnior, focusing on strategies for the decisive clash against the team from Minas Gerais. The main activity was a small-sided field exercise, aimed at improving the dynamics and making final adjustments for the match.

If they manage to qualify for the Copa do Brasil final, Timão will face the winner of the other semifinal bracket, contested between Vasco and Fluminense – in the first leg, Vasco played at home and came from behind to beat their local rival 2-1. The People’s Team is seeking their fourth title in the competition.
