Corinthians hand debuts to four players in Women's Libertadores draw

This Thursday, 2nd, Corinthians made their debut in the Women's Copa Libertadores. In a match valid for the first round of the group stage of the competition, the Brabas faced Dragonas Independiente del Valle-EQU, at the Florencio Sola Stadium, in Banfield, and left the field with a 1 x 1 draw - the alvinegro goal was scored by Gabi Zanotti.

Despite the stumble, however, the match ended up being special for four Brabas who played for the first time in their careers in a match in the continental competition. Two of them started the duel among the starters: right-back Gi Fernandes and forward Jhonson. Two others entered during the match against the Ecuadorians: defender Thaís Regina and midfielder Ivana Fuso.

In addition, four other athletes played in the Libertadores for the first time defending Corinthians, although they already had previous experience in the tournament. One of them, forward Andressa Alves, was champion and top scorer of the 2014 edition playing for São José. The others are attacking midfielder Letícia Monteiro (who played the tournament for Internacional), defender Thaís Ferreira (Palmeiras) and midfielder Day Rodríguez (Caracas-VEN and Estudiantes de Guárico-VEN).

Now, the Brabas return to play in the Libertadores next Sunday, 5th, when they face Always Ready-BOL at the Nuevo Francisco Urbano Stadium, in Morón, at 4pm (Brasília time).
