Corinthians have first-time call-ups in Brazil Under-15 squad

Throughout this Monday (9), the coach of the Brazil U-15 National Team, Guilherme Dalla Déa, released the list of players called up for the Amarelinha for a training period at Granja Comary, in Teresópolis, Rio de Janeiro, headquarters of the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) from February 23 to March 6. In total, the called-up athletes come from 12 Brazilian clubs and one European club, Benfica from Portugal.

On the list, Corinthians had two representatives who were previously uncalled: defensive midfielder Lucas Splichal and midfielder Igor Macedo, both 14 years old and born in 2011. The first has been with the Alvinegro since he was six, is currently part of the U-15 team, and in 2025 alternated between the U-14 and U-15 teams in the Paulista Championship.

Meanwhile, Igor Macedo is considered the main name of the 2011 generation at Corinthians. In the club's youth categories, where he has played for several seasons, he won the U-12 state futsal title and the U-11 Paulista Championship, both in 2022. In the 2023 season, he won the Paulista Cup U-12. And in 2024, he was the top scorer of the Paulistão U-13 with 20 goals scored.

So far, in 2026, the team led by coach Eduardo Vergueiro will compete in the Pré-Paulistão and the U-15 Paulista Championship, as well as other tournaments aimed at showcasing young talents who may emerge throughout the season. Since January last year, it is worth noting, the club has been excluded from the Youth Club Movement and is out of the main youth championships organized by the group’s members.
