Corinthians visit Fluminense at the Maracanã on Wednesday at 21:30 in the ninth round of the Campeonato Brasileiro, with Dorival Júnior missing seven players and five one booking from suspension.
According to Meu Timao, the injured list includes left-back Hugo Farias after surgery on the lateral meniscus of his right knee. Forwards Memphis Depay, Gui Negão and Kaio César are also out with right thigh problems. Depay has an anterior strain, Gui a grade 2 posterior injury, and Kaio perifibrotic inflammation in the affected hamstring area.
Goalkeeper Hugo Souza and midfielder André Carrillo are on international duty and will not return in time. Midfielder Raniele is suspended after an accumulation of yellow cards.
There are potential boosts. Goalkeeper Felipe Longo has recovered from a right elbow ligament strain. Midfielder Allan is available after missing the Flamengo match as he belongs to the Rio club, and there is an expectation of Jesse Lingard’s debut after his name appeared in the CBF’s BID last week.
Corinthians also have five players walking a disciplinary tightrope. Centre-backs André Ramalho and Gustavo Henrique, right-back Matheuzinho, and left-backs Matheus Bidu and Fabrizio Angileri would miss Internacional at Neo Química Arena if cautioned.
Corinthians are winless in seven and sit 11th with 10 points. Fluminense are fourth on 16. A win could lift Corinthians back into the top half.
