Corinthians hero vs XV de Jaú hails Copinha knockout spot

On the evening of this Friday (9th), Corinthians faced XV de Jaú at the Zezinho Magalhães Stadium in Jaú, for the third and final round of the group stage of the 2026 São Paulo Junior Football Cup. In an eventful match, Corinthians won 3-2, with goals scored by Luiz Fábio Favela, Pires, and Luiz Fernando. After the final whistle, the scorer of the last goal celebrated the result.

“I think this victory shows a lot of hard work. We've been working hard, we played two games, I think, way below what we had been doing, but we focused on this game and thank God we managed to come out with the victory and the qualification.”, said the striker in an interview with the XSports channel as he left the field.

With the victory in the last round, Corinthians secured qualification for the knockout stage and finished at the top of Group 8, ensuring they remain in Jaú for the elimination phase.

Now, the Timãozinho awaits the definition of Group 7 to know their opponent for the second phase of the Copinha. The match is scheduled for the 12th or 13th, next Monday or Tuesday, and is expected to take place at the Zezinho Magalhães stadium in Jaú.
