Corinthians have received a fourth transfer ban in two months after failing to settle the final payment to Midtjylland for Charles, leaving the club barred from registering new players.

According to Globo.com, the overdue sum is about R$ six million, the third and final instalment of a one point six million euros deal agreed under president Augusto Melo. The last 800 thousand euros fell due on 15 March 2025 and was not paid.

The contract carried a 200 thousand euros penalty clause for late payment. Midtjylland took the case to FIFA and won in October 2025, and Corinthians then lost their appeal at the Court of Arbitration for Sport, CAS, in May this year.

This sanction follows three others in quick succession. The first FIFA ban related to a debt owed to Philadelphia Union over the 2024 signing of José Martínez. The second arrived last week for non-payment of a US$ 225 thousand disciplinary fine tied to delayed obligations in the Martínez, Charles and Talles Magno deals.

The third, imposed by the CBF on Friday, stemmed from a late instalment under a National Dispute Resolution Chamber agreement. In total, transfer ban debts amount to about R$ 23 million.
