Corinthians completed their second and penultimate session on Friday morning at CT Dr. Joaquim Grava, sharpening for the Clássico Alvinegro against Santos on Sunday at 16:00 at Vila Belmiro in the sixth round of the Campeonato Brasileiro.
The day began with a video briefing in the Sala de Preleção Flexform, then a gym activation before heading to the pitch. According to Meu Timao, this followed the club’s usual routine.
On the grass, players warmed up, then Dorival Júnior led a possession drill with numerical superiority. Those who logged more than 45 minutes in Wednesday’s defeat to Coritiba moved inside for recovery work, the others stayed for small-sided games and finishing touches.
After training, the squad spoke with around 20 members of Corinthians’ organised supporters. Their presence aimed to demand a response after the Coritiba loss and recent results.
The final session before the derby is scheduled for Saturday, after which the travelling party will head to the Baixada Santista for the match.
There were positive signs in recent days, with midfielder Matheus Pereira and forwards Yuri Alberto and Kaio César back in full training. The expectation is that the trio could be available to Dorival for the Clássico Alvinegro.
Meanwhile, attacking midfielder Jesse Lingard is still awaiting documentation to be officially registered by Corinthians. He continues to train with the group and is working towards improved fitness.
