Corinthians’ women were beaten 2-1 by São Paulo at Fazendinha on Thursday in the opening round of the Paulista Feminino. The visitors came from behind to hand the hosts their first home defeat in a women’s Majestoso since the rivalry began in 2019.

Before this setback, Corinthians were unbeaten as hosts in 12 such derbies, winning nine and drawing three in fixtures across the Brasileiro and the State championship.

The loss also snapped their unbeaten run against São Paulo specifically at Fazendinha. The Parque São Jorge ground had staged five derbies with Corinthians as hosts, yielding three home wins and one draw before this reverse.

Neo Química Arena remains the principal stage for women’s Majestosos with Corinthians as the designated home side. There, the hosts are still unbeaten, with six wins and one draw from seven meetings. Canindé has staged just one such tie, last season’s Brasileiro semi-final, which finished 2-2.

The rivals meet again on Monday at 21:30, once more at Fazendinha, this time in round 10 of the Brasileiro Feminino.
