Corinthians host NECO revamp event at Parque São Jorge

The Cultural Department of Corinthians will hold an event next Tuesday (21st) at 7:10 PM at the club's Theater in Parque São Jorge, focusing on the restructuring of NECO (Corinthians Study Center).

Participation in the event is free, and registrations can be made through this link: click HERE. Founded in 2015, NECO aims to promote debates, research, conferences, and studies focused on the recovery and preservation of the club's history at Parque São Jorge.

“After 10 years since its foundation, we are recreating, rebuilding, restructuring, to put it better, the Corinthians Study Center. It is a very valuable and important space for the culture of our club,” said the cultural director and NECO coordinator Rafael Castilho in an interview with Central do Timão.

“Corinthians is one of the only clubs in the world whose main asset is its history. You have other clubs that value trophies, that value players. The Corinthians fan is a different kind of supporter. First, because they are protagonists, builders of the club's own history. And second, because they live the history of Corinthians in the main moments,” he continued.

“The Corinthians fan does not forget and values their history. So NECO is a space that studies Corinthians, the club's history, also relating its history to Brazilian society, in its different periods and historical moments. Our city, our country, the history of our people, they are directly linked to the history of Corinthians. So I extend this invitation to everyone to join us on October 21st, at 7:10 PM, at the Corinthians Theater.”

“It is an event open to members and non-members, an event extended to the entire Corinthians fanbase. We have the confirmed presence of the Idol Basílio, who will recall details and stories about the 1977 title. We will also have a presentation of an exhibition by the Faithful Supporters, with photographs taken by loyal fans. It will be a very special day of reunion for the old researchers, for the people who have already collaborated with NECO in the past. So I hope everyone will be present, it will be great to be with you. Go, Corinthians!,” concluded the director.

NECO relies on the collaboration of fans and professionals such as sociologists, historians, and journalists who, among various topics, analyze the relevance of Corinthians in the social context, beyond the four lines. The project also addresses issues such as increasing female participation in sports, combating homophobia, and racial issues in society.
