Corinthians keep their stake and track Henrique Lemos’ progress at Cruzeiro

Corinthians will continue to follow the career of Henrique Lemos, even after the official departure of Fagner from the club. The young midfielder, son of the right-back, currently plays for Cruzeiro, where he transferred in 2025 along with his father. According to information from the Goal portal, the Minas Gerais club is already working on the details of the athlete's professional contract, which is expected to be signed in 2026.

In the negotiation involving the athlete's move to Minas Gerais, Corinthians retained 50% of Henrique's economic rights, while Cruzeiro kept the other half. The agreement was made when the player was still 14 years old and remains valid to this day.

Almost a year after the transfer, the São Paulo club still holds this percentage. However, Timão is watching from a distance a moment considered decisive in the athlete's career. Henrique will turn 16 in March 2026, the age that allows the signing of the first professional contract, which is expected to be signed with Cruzeiro shortly after his birthday.

Athletes who only have a training contract have their economic rights exclusively linked to the club they represent. The division of percentages is only allowed after professionalization, which makes Henrique's contractual situation handled with caution by the parties involved. Internally, Corinthians understands that the previously signed agreement should be respected, although they recognize there is no guarantee in this type of transition.

At the time of the negotiation, the then Corinthians youth executive Alex Brasil highlighted that the transfer involved factors beyond the sporting aspect, mainly because it was a minor athlete accompanying his family. According to him, the club opted for an agreement that met the circumstances of the moment, even without full legal certainty about maintaining the future percentage.

Since joining Cruzeiro, Henrique Lemos has been standing out in the youth categories. The player also has call-ups for the Brazilian Under-15 National Team, playing both as a midfielder and as a right-back, positions in which he also excelled during his formation at Corinthians.

Corinthians closely follows the development of the 2010 generation and, this season, will integrate these athletes directly into the Under-17 team, promoting names like midfielder Lucas Lopes, midfielder Léo Rodrigues, and forwards Pedro Morelli and Miguel Moscardo, who will no longer play for the Under-16; Lucas Lopes and Léo Rodrigues were frequent presences in the Brazilian Under-15 National Team and won the South American Championship of the category, while Miguel Moscardo finished the last season with more than 40 goals and even participated in activities with the professional squad.
