Corinthians land two players in the 2025 Paulistão Feminino team

Last Monday (15th), the awards ceremony for the best players of the year in the 2025 Women's Paulista Championship took place. In the current season, the Brabas, just like in 2024, finished as runners-up, being defeated by an aggregate score of 5 x 2. In the first leg, they were beaten 5 x 1 in Barueri. However, in the second match, they won 1 x 0 but still secured second place.

Despite this, Corinthians had two players in the competition's selection: defender Mariza and midfielder Duda Sampaio. As a result, the team was 'lined up' with: Kate Tapia (Palmeiras); Rhay Coutinho (Palmeiras), Mariza (Corinthians), Pati Maldaner (Palmeiras), and Fe Palermo (Palmeiras); Duda Sampaio (Corinthians), Ingryd (Palmeiras), and Brenda (Palmeiras); Tainá Maranhã (Palmeiras), Amanda Gutierres (Palmeiras), and Natalia Vendito (Ferroviária). The best coach was: Rosana Augusto (Palmeiras).

The selection criteria were based on votes from coaches and captains of each team, as well as journalists who followed the tournament. In 2025, the Brabas won two titles: the Brazilian Championship (vs Cruzeiro) and the Libertadores (vs Deportivo Cali-COL). Additionally, they were runners-up in two competitions: the Supercup (vs São Paulo) and the Paulista (vs Palmeiras). Finally, in the Copa do Brasil, the Alvinegro was eliminated in the quarterfinals by São Paulo.

Now, the Brabas will return to the field in January 2026, to compete in the Champions Cup – Women's Club World Cup –, which will take place from January 28 to February 1. In the semifinals, Corinthians will face Gotham FC from the United States at the Gtech Community Stadium in West London, England.
