Corinthians look to extend strong Paulistão semi-finals record, stats:

Corinthians faces Novorizontino this Saturday night (28th) at 8:30 PM (Brasília time) in a match valid for the semifinals of the 2026 Paulistão. They take the field at Jorjão, in Novo Horizonte, aiming to extend their excellent track record in this phase of the state tournament.

In the 21st century, from 2001 onwards, Timão reached the semifinal stage of the Campeonato Paulista 14 times, advancing in 10 of those and being eliminated only four times. The most frequent opponent in this phase was São Paulo, faced five times, with Corinthians advancing four times (2009, 2013, 2017, and 2018) and São Paulo once (2022).

Broadening the scope in general, Corinthians also has good numbers in semifinals, having competed 23 times in this stage and advancing in 15 of them, scoring 50 goals and conceding only 41. It is worth noting that during this period, the Campeonato Paulista underwent various competition formats, some where the semifinal was decided in two matches and others in a single match, as currently defined by the Federação Paulista.

If they advance in regular time, Corinthians has only one possibility to decide the final at Neo Química Arena, which is if São Paulo qualifies against Palmeiras on penalties in Barueri, this Sunday (29th).
