Corinthians ‘make enquiry’ for América-MG midfielder Kauã Diniz amid Botafogo interest | OneFootball

Corinthians have made an enquiry for América-MG midfielder Kauã Diniz as they explore additions to their 2026 squad.

Botafogo have also shown interest and, according to ge.globo, are understood to have reached an agreement with the 21-year-old, with only salary terms to be settled. The Rio club are currently under a Fifa transfer ban, so cannot register new players at present.

Corinthians’ approach was to clarify the conditions of a deal. Diniz is said to have an understanding with América-MG that would allow a free exit, with the club retaining a percentage in a future move. His contract runs until the end of 2026.

Developed at América-MG, Diniz made 37 appearances in 2025, scoring one goal and providing one assist in his first full season with the seniors. He joined in 2019 at under-15 level and won the state title, moved to under-17s in 2020, then featured for the under-20s from 2022 to 2024, lifting the Mineiro there too.

Corinthians are also targeting 21-year-old forward Kaio César at Al Hilal. The club have confirmed the arrival of defender Gabriel Paulista and have advanced deals for midfielder Matheus Pereira and Uruguayan right-back Pedro Milans.
