Corinthians midfielder called up for three Venezuela friendlies

Throughout this week, Corinthians Feminino midfielder Dayana Rodríguez was called up by the Venezuelan National Team for the first FIFA international window of the year. The Venezuelans will face Cruz Azul, Brazil, and América on February 28, March 4, and March 7, respectively. The two aforementioned teams are from Mexican football.

Coach Ricardo Belli called up 24 athletes with the aim of preparing his team for the Conmebol Nations League, in which Venezuela is currently the leader with eight points in four matches. Dayana Rodríguez is a key player for Corinthians, led by coach Lucas Piccinato. Besides her, the only other defensive midfielder in the squad is Paola García, who was signed at the start of 2026 from Deportivo Cali, Colombia.

Dayana joined Corinthians at the beginning of 2025 after standing out while playing for Grêmio the previous year. Since then, she has been an undisputed starter for the Brabas, taking part in both of the team’s titles since her arrival: Campeonato Brasileiro (2025) and Conmebol Libertadores Feminina (2025). In total, she has three goals and three assists in 42 matches (29 as a starter).

This Saturday, the Brabas will take the field to face Palmeiras at 4:00 PM (Brasília time) at Arena Barueri, in the final of the Supercopa do Brasil Feminina. The Alvinegro is the tournament’s most successful club, with three titles (2022, 2023, and 2024) out of the four possible editions of the competition.
