Corinthians reach 13 red cards in 2025, suspension woes deepen

The match against Red Bull Bragantino left Corinthians without points in the Brasileirão and, in addition, with two suspensions for the next round. During the 90 minutes, José Martínez and Charles were sent off, making the club reach its 13th red card of the season, considering players and coaching staff.

The leader of this statistic is precisely José Martínez, who has three expulsions in 2025, placing him at the top of the list. He is followed by Félix Torres, who has already left the field twice, as well as Ángel Romero, Breno Bidon, Charles, and Yuri Alberto, who were each punished once. In total, there were nine cards for players.

Of these player expulsions, four were in the Brasileirão, with three in the second half and only one in the first. The first expulsion of the championship occurred against Juventude, for Romero.

The other red cards were for members of the coaching staff. Goalkeeper coach Marcelo Carpes and fitness coach Celso Resende have already had to leave the game after being sent off – the former was even punished with more games later. Still at Corinthians, Ramón Díaz was expelled, as was Dorival once, against Internacional.

With the suspensions, in addition to Raniele's injury, Dorival will have to rack his brains to set up Corinthians' midfield to face Ceará. The match kicks off at Neo Química Arena this Sunday (9), starting at 4 PM (Brasília time).
