Corinthians reach Paulistão quarter-finals for 14th time this century | OneFootball

Corinthians begin the Campeonato Paulista knockout phase on Sunday at 20:30 at Canindé against Portuguesa, marking their 14th quarter-final this century.

They will play the tie away from home because Portuguesa finished fourth in the overall standings and Corinthians fifth. According to Meu Timao, ticket sales are expected to start on Tuesday.

Quarter-finals were introduced in 2011, previously the knockout stage began at the semi-finals. Since then, the club have only missed the knockout rounds twice, in 2014 and 2024.

Their last-eight record is strong. From 13 quarter-finals under the current format, the Timão advanced 11 times, with exits to Ponte Preta in 2012 and to Ituano in 2023.

In 2025, Ramón Díaz’s side beat Mirassol 2-0 in the quarters, Memphis Depay and Ángel Romero scoring, then knocked out Santos in the semi-final and defeated Palmeiras in the final.

Since 2011, notable quarter-final wins include over Ponte Preta in 2015, Red Bull Brasil in 2016, Red Bull Bragantino in 2020, Inter de Limeira in 2021 and Guarani on penalties in 2022.
